Hello everyone, it’s been a while since the last update. Lots of things have happened but I thought it better to wait until I had some concrete news to share with you.
First off, unfortunately, the website development has been halted the past 2 months. Our developer has gone MIA (This is the second developer we’ve worked with). Due to this and some financial circumstances at the moment, I will be working to code the website myself. What this means however, is that the launch will be further delayed – fully depending on how fast I can learn/re-learn how to code, get the site functioning and then open it up for further testing.
I would like to say, to everyone who has been there and who has joined in through various forums, social medias and/or Twitch/YouTube – thank you all very much for hanging out and showing your interest.
When I first started work on this at the beginning of the year I did not expect or realize A) The amount of work it would actually take to make this possible, B) The amount of funding it would take to make this possible and C) The difficulty of finding a reasonable and trustworthy programmer online.
Overall, it has been a great (and very costly) learning experience but I am more driven than ever to get this thing created and put into your hands in hopes to make everyone’s gaming experience more fun and streamlined. I want people to be able to come home from their 9-5 workdays and PLAY. Not wait on a group, wait on friends, or wait period. Get home, log-in and play.
As I progress further into the coding and I will be able to provide more frequent updates, in the meantime feel free to join us in Discord, watch us live on Twitch, check out our videos on YouTube and/or follow us for more updates on Twitter.
Again, I want to say thank you to everyone for the support and I promise we will get this done! It’s just going to take a bit more time.
We’re closer than ever to the launch of the website!
The core features have now all been created in the back-end and front-end work has been started this week. We’re inching closer to allowing everyone that has signed-up on our Mailing List access to the beta testing and we can’t wait to hear everyone’s feedback. More on this as we get closer to launch.
We’ve also brought on a new partner this week, Th3 Razzer! Razzer is a PC-focused gamer who’s currently got The Division, Diablo III and Minecraft in his stream rotation so make sure to stop by and say hello!
Finally, we’ve launched the official 2PLYR Discord channel. The channel is open to everyone so feel free to hop in and throw your thoughts, ideas or general rambling at us and our partners.
Lots of additions this month for the whole 2PLYR team!
To begin, we’ve partnered up the The World’s Empire – an excellent source of gaming news, videos, livestreams and more. Skip those other gaming “news” sources and head straight to TWE for original news articles on all things gaming.
Next up are some updates on the 2PLYR Competitive team. Mr. Futius is leading the team in our first competitive venture – right into Call of Duty: Black Ops III. With quite a few Arena wins under their belt they’ll be moving into the GameBattles scene soon to take down team after team and climb their way up the ladder. In the future, we’ll be expanding to even more games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Paragon and more!
For the podcast fans out there we now have a weekly podcast live every Saturday at 1:00pm CST – PLYRTALK. Each week we’ll discuss new and old topics regarding gaming with new guests every week so feel free to hop on and give us your opinions on that weeks topics! If you miss the livestream don’t worry, every episode is posted to our YouTube the following day.
Finally, front-end website development is beginning in a couple weeks and we can’t wait to get everyone who has signed-up to our mailing list testing the first version and helping us shape the website through their feedback. If you haven’t signed-up to our mailing list yet make sure to do that now so you don’t miss out on a chance to give us your feedback!
The 2PLYR Team has grown to 6 amazing partners over the past few months with plenty of room for expansion. If you’re looking for a good Twitch stream or some YouTube videos to keep you entertained stop by our partner’s channels and give them a view!
Also, if you’re looking for a recommendation on a new co-op capable game, we now have an official Steam Curator page to help with that!
The website development is moving along smoothly and we are getting closer to Beta launch every week, if you have any recommended features you’d like to see available when we launch please let us know!
Development of the 2PLYR website has been underway for close to a month now. We expect to have a beta available in the coming months. If you haven’t already, subscribe to our mailing list below to receive updates and an invite to the beta when it’s ready.
We’re also hosting our first official 2PLYR game server for none other than Rust.
In the future we’ll be hosting more servers for popular and requested games so don’t hesitate to join us!
